My name is Dorcas Rheece Bako, but I go by Rheece Rhose. Dorcas, my biblical first name, means gazelle or doe, symbolising grace and elegance. Rheece is Hausa for “someone to behold,” and in English, it reflects devotion, enthusiasm, and warmth. Rhose is my own signature, giving the name a unique feel.

In my culture, middle names are often used as first names. My grandparents, John Bako Gaiya and Mary Rheece Gaiya (Bako), were both known by their own. Gaiya means cheerful in Hausa and Earth in English, while Bako shows respect and signifies male firstborn or guest.
